Andromeda was a princess from Greek mythology who, as divine punishment for her mother's bragging, was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster. She was saved from death by Perseus, her future husband. Her name is the Latinized form of the Greek Ανδρομέδη (Andromédē). The etymology of the name is "to think of a man," from ανδρός (andros) "man" combined with μήδομαι (mēdomai) "to think, to be mindful of."
I found this stunning LO by LDrag2004 in the gallery at Digiridoo. She used two of my favorite kits, Dream Start and Delightful Happening. Absolutely stunning work!

{Journaling} Tarrah and I have always had an okay relationship with the camera, but like any child, she gets annoyed with it and tells me to stop, no more pictures. What's a mother to do when your muse doesn't want any more of it? As I started my digital photography class this semester, I worried that I wouldn't have a cooperative subject. Being a single mom, I don't have a lot of other opportunities to take photos of other subjects. As I read the chapter in my book about taking pictures of children, a light went off. Why didn't I read about this before? We went on our daily walk, like we had so many times before. Along the way, I made a game out of finding places to take pictures. Pretty soon, we were stopping at every bench, every stoop, and every store front. Tarrah was enjoying this so much as I showed her the fabulous pictures I was taking. I even let her participate by taking some of me. I think I have a little future photographer on my hands. It does pay to listen to your muse, and let them guide you.

{journalentry} Growing up, all I ever dreamed about was finding my prince and living happily ever after. Over the years, my requirements and expectations changed as I did, with each new experience. At the age of 31, a single mom with two kids, I began to give up hope that this dream would ever come true, until I met Tom.
Tom and I have known each other for many years now. He is part of my daughter's family. Over the years, we became friends, often finding ourselves up late talking or just hanging out, long after everyone was in bed. I always thought of him as a good friend until late one summer night. I was alone relaxing after putting the kids to bed and my cell phone beeped. It was Tom. We started our usual flirtatious banter back and forth, until suddenly he got serious on me. He told me of the feelings he's had for me for some time and asked if I wanted to go out sometime. Flattered, taken-aback, and flabbergasted, I agreed to the date. We stayed up all night talking to each other about anything and everything.
As our relationship has grown, I've come to realize how much I've missed out in life, in allowing myself to be treated the way I was in past relationships. We've been through so many obstacles and hard ships just to be able to see each other. It has only made our love stronger. We hold on to that love with a fierceness, as we recognize that we have both found our other half in each other. Together we are whole; we are one. Together we can take on the world. The only way I can describe it is a feeling of relaxation, love, and contentment being washed over me when I am with him. The passion and tenderness I feel for him are unparalleled. My prince has come. My cowboy is here to take me away.
"Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you"
- Dixie Chicks

{journal entry} There are times in life when you come to a fork in the road and it's so obvious, you actually stop and think, which path do I take? My life has had several defining moments, but none is so clear to me as my most recent decision. When put in black and white, the decision was this, follow my heart or play it safe? I have a hard time with change, but somehow I knew this decision would monumentally change my life forever, and I wasn't wrong. My entire life has been turned upside down, completely obliterated, and is re-altering itself still. Absolutely nothing in my life has stayed the same, and I've never fought for my right to make my own life decisions more. I know I've made the right decision in following my heart and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. I know now that if you follow your heart and your dreams, good things will happen. Don't be afraid to take the leap.
{music lyrics} Darius Rucker "History in the Making" - This could be one of those memories, We want to hold on to, cling to, one we can’t forget, Baby, this could be our last first kiss, The door to forever, What if this was that moment, That chance worth taking, History in the making
